DMG MORI CO., LTD. (hereinafter called DMG MORI) held IGA INNOVATION DAYS 2015 during July 22 (Wed) to July 25 (Sat) at the Iga Campus. At the event we unveiled the IGA Solution Center which has been remodeled to become one of the world\u2019s largest machine tool exhibition sites. The event venue had been full of excitement and enthusiasm throughout all days, drawing more than 8,900 visitors. We appreciate those who have visited IGA INNOVATION DAYS 2015 to see our innovation and advanced technologies.
\nWe have put 58 cutting-edge machines on show, and presented the latest case examples for various industries including automotive, aircraft, construction machinery, medical equipment, die & mold, and energy fields. As for the world premiere model LASERTEC 4300 3D, we performed the live demonstrations using DMG MORI\u2019s new original technique that combines the powder nozzle method in which metal powder and laser are simultaneously injected to generate metal deposits, with turning\/milling. In the powder nozzle method, a deposition process can be done up to 20 times faster than in the powder bed method. As it can be effective for machining of large workpieces, the demos of the latest hybrid machine drew a great deal of attention from the visitors. On the NLX3000 | 3000, another world premiere model, we also performed demonstration machining of heavy-duty cutting of long workpieces, which was as powerful as that of a machining center. The model is equipped with the further evolved BMT\u00ae (Built-in Motor Turret) with a maximum rotation speed of 10,000 min-1. Throughout the event, we provided various advanced solutions that contribute to increasing customers\u2019 productivity.
\nThe \u201cPorsche 919 Hybrid\u201d mock-up display was also one of the features of the event. The Porsche team which DMG MORI supports as the exclusive premium partner won a victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans held in June. And we had Brendon Hartley, one of the Porsche\u2019s racing drivers, coming over for a special talk show on July 22 (Wed), where he talked about the backstage of the race, features of the Porsche 919 Hybrid and his ambition towards the FIA World Endurance Championship 6 Hours of Fuji. The talk show was followed by an autographing session that fascinated a number of visitors.
\nDuring the 4-day event, we held cutting-edge technology seminars on automation, 5-axis machines and the automotive and aircraft-related topics, and future oriented technical information from machining issues to advanced technologies was presented to help customers improve their business and skills.
