This total, as reported by companies participating in the Cutting Tool Market Report (CTMR) collaboration, was down 7.9% from March\u2019s total and down 4.6% from April 2014.
\nThese numbers and all data in this report are based on the totals actually reported by the companies participating in the CTMR program. The totals here represent the majority of the U.S. market for cutting tools.
\n\u201cClearly, the slowdown in the manufacturing sector has caused a decline in April,\u201d said Tom Haag president of USCTI. \u201cThe good news is that year-to-date performance is still above 2014 and the indicators are that it will remain as such throughout the year.”
