US based Altair, a global technology company providing solutions in product development, high-performance computing and data intelligence, in a collaborative effort with its channel partner in India, DesignTech Systems, has signed a tri-party MoU with Manav Rachna University (MRU), Faridabad.
The MoU establishes co-operation between the three entities for setting up a Center of Excellence (CoE) providing infrastructure facilities for 30 engineers to work simultaneously on Computer-Aided-Engineering (CAE) simulation related student projects. MRU will conduct formal courses as part of the curriculum for students. It will also offer regular short-term training programmes with the content & duration based on industry needs.
The CAE-CoE will include the following activities as a part of the programme:
- Training of formal subjects for Under-graduate (UG) /Post-graduate (PG) programmes
- Conduct Laboratory classes for UG/PG programmes
- Conduct projects at UG/PG/Ph.D. level programmes
- Conduct short term/continuing education programmes
- Carry out research projects for the industry
- Carry out induction training for those recruited by Altair
- Other activities as mutually agreed upon by the parties
Speaking on the occasion of signing of the MoU, Dr. Prashant Bhalla, Chancellor, MRU said, “This initiative will provide a major boost for imparting high-end technical skills to the youth, and prepare them for employment or self-employment. Industries in Delhi and the Haryana regions will get major support by getting high-end skilled manpower.”
Prof. I K Bhatt, Vice Chancellor, MRU added, “This is a commendable initiative undertaken by Manav Rachna University and Altair. This will help to bridge the knowledge gap between industry and academia. Initiatives like this will provide students the right platform to acquire contemporary knowledge, while DT shall also help the university to train the students and the industry shall get trained manpower in the chosen area.”
