The high-tech company TRUMPF wants to make even faster progress in the development of smart factory solutions. Therefore, these are combined with machine networking and platform activities under the TRUMPF umbrella at the Ditzingen headquarters. Some of these solutions were previously developed by the subsidiary AXOOM in Karlsruhe.
One of the goals is to further standardise machine networking in order to be able to offer customers easier and faster than before Smart Factory solutions. “So far, we have often implemented customised solutions for our customers that require complex integration,” explained Mathias Kammüller, Chief Digital Officer of TRUMPF.
That’s why TRUMPF now relies more than ever before on working with experienced partners. The Ditzingen-based mechanical engineering firm has now agreed to work closely with GFT.
GFT itself intends to expand the industrial business and has therefore taken over the activities of AXOOM and the team at the Karlsruhe location with effect from 1 July 2019. Karlsruhe becomes new business location for GFT.
Part of the AXOOM team, which had previously been closely involved in the development of components for the TruConnect production solution, is taken over by TRUMPF. These software solutions and the rights to the AXOOM brand remain with TRUMPF.
Mathias Kammüller: “We are convinced that with this reorganiation at TRUMPF and the development partnership with GFT we will be able to implement our digital ambition in sheet metal production even faster and more effectively and expand our proven expertise in the field of Industrial IoT and Smart Factory solutions more quickly.”
The close cooperation with GFT Technologies is initially scheduled for two years. Both companies already have many years of cooperation in various areas.
